About Alachua County Library District

The Alachua County Library District (ACLD) is an independent special taxing district and the sole provider of public library services to approximately 250,000 citizens in Alachua County.

ACLD's goal is to provide all community members with free, open and equal access to education, information, and entertainment. Find out more about the core values at the heart of all services we offer.

ACLD has 12 locations throughout Alachua County. Including branch locations in Alachua, Archer, Hawthorne, High Springs, Micanopy, Newberry, Waldo, and 5 locations in Gainesville.  The Library also operates two bookmobiles and multiple deposit collections throughout the county.

Budget Documents

In accordance with Florida law, Trustees and staff are pleased to submit the FY 2010 - 2011 recommended budget for the Alachua County Library District. Chapter 98-502, as amended by Chapter 03-375, Laws of Florida, establishes the Alachua County Library District, an independent special taxing district, as the sole provider of public library services in Alachua County. The District and Alachua County's boundaries are congruent.
