Your personal gift or organization’s gift to the library in memory of a friend or loved one provides a lasting tribute which benefits the entire community. Celebrate happy times such as the birthday of a child or special friend with a gift to the library in their name. Each book will contain a gift plate with your name as donor and the name of the person honored. You may earmark the funds for materials in your particular area of interest.

You may also mail your check with a gift form, available at all service desks, to:

Material Gifts

You may donate material gifts to the library. Such gifts are accepted at any library location and become the property of the Library. These donations may be added to the collection for circulation. Materials that are not added to the collection, are donated to Friends of the Library for inclusion in their used book sales. Proceeds from the sales support the library.

Please note, the library can only accept textbooks published within the last ten years.

ACLD Foundation websiteThe Foundation's mission is to provide supplemental funding to the library with an emphasis on long-term support and planned giving. Our vision is to enhance the District's ability to enrich the lives of everyone in our community.

The Foundation's major goal for 2013-2014 is to establish the "Insure the Legacy Fundraising Campaign" to achieve its long-held goal of a million dollar endowment which provides funds to the Library District annually.  Funds have been generated through Foundation membership dues, Author Galas, and memorial and gift recognition leaves on Katherine's Tree at the Headquarters Library.  All funds raised during this campaign will go toward meeting this goal.

On occasion, the Foundation has chosen to support special projects for the Library District. In 2013 the Foundation contributed funds to the Teen Center for the Cone Park Branch Library Facility as it did in 2012 to create a Teen Space in the Headquarters Library. In 2007, the renovation of a Headquarters meeting room was underwritten by the Foundation. The room was renamed in honor of the Foundation. Find out more at www.acldfound.org.
