Jazz in Gainesville
The Gainesville Friends of Jazz 2011-12 Concert Series continues on March 6 when the Allan Vaché Quartet performs at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. Vaché, on clarinet, is a freelance jazz musician who has toured around the world and performed with artists such as Benny Goodman and Benny Carter.

Arlo Guthrie
Arlo Guthrie, the son of American folk singer Woody Guthrie, is hosting "Boys Night Out" at the UF Center for Performing Arts on February 23 at 7:30 PM. What is Steampunk? Well, essentially it is a sci/fi-fantasy story set in a world with steam powered machines, Western/Victorian clothing, dirigible airships, and adventure.

It's almost time to light the menorah
Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a Jewish holiday that begins on the 25th day of the Jewish month of Kislev and continues for eight days. It is the anniversary of the reclaiming of the Holy Temple from the Greek Empire about 21 centuries ago.
This year, Hanukkah is December 21st to December 28th.
