Back to School with Your Library

It's time to get ready for school and as you go shopping for notebooks and folders, don't forget the library. Stop by Library Headquarters between August 13 and August 19 and we'll give you a free pen or pencil for school, while supplies last. You will also get a free bookmark listing some of the library's terrific resources to help you with homework and school projects.

The Internet is often the first place kids and teens go to search for information and the library offers excellent online resources, that you can access from home, school and of course the library. The Homework Help tab on both the Kids and Teen pages is where you can find encyclopedias, online magazines and journals and many other resources. If you are accessing these resources from home, make sure you have your library card number handy.

For Science Fair projects, make sure check out Science Online. This database has sections on Experiments, Biographies, Timelines and Videos and Animation to help explain concepts and ideas in video format.

Social Studies projects will be a breeze with Lands and People which has current information and facts about countries around the world, or America the Beautiful which can give you up to date information about the states.

If you need help with homework, our fabulous HelpNow service will connect you with real tutors who will chat with you online and help you with your homework.
