The Alachua County Library District Governing Board met in regular session.
PRESENT: Chair Mike Byerly, presiding, Vice-Chair Eileen Roy, Governors Paula M. DeLaney, Scherwin Henry, and Craig Lowe
ABSENT: Governor Cynthia Moore Chestnut
ALSO PRESENT: Library Director Sol Hirsch, Administrative Services Director Shaney T. Livingston, County Attorney David Wagner, Clerk to the Board J. K. Irby, Assistant Clerk/Finance Director Todd Hutchison, and Deputy Clerk Steve Donahey
The meeting was not televised.
Chair Byerly opened the meeting at 10:39 A.M.
I. Election of Governing Board Chairperson and Vice Chairperson
Clerk Irby called for nominations for the Chair of the Governing Board.
Governor Lowe nominated Governor Eileen Roy as the Chair of the Library Governing Board. The nomination carried 5-0.
Clerk Irby called for nominations for the Vice Chair of the Governing Board.
Governor Lowe nominated Governor Paula DeLaney as the Vice Chair.
Governor DeLaney nominated Governor Scherwin Henry.
After discussion Governor Lowe withdrew his nomination of Governor DeLaney.
The nomination of Governor Scherwin Henry carried 5-0.

Governor DeLaney moved approval of the Consent Agenda. The motion carried 5-0.
(The items on the Consent Agenda are of a routine nature. The motion to approve the Consent Agenda approved all items and the recommended actions on the Consent Agenda.)

Governor DeLaney moved adoption of the agenda. The motion carried 5-0.

A. Donation to the Alachua County Library District Millhopper Branch Library
Staff Recommended Action: The Governing Board accepts the donation from the Pinkoson Intervivos Trust in the amount of $10,000.00 and authorize the Governing Board Chair to send a thank you letter to the Pinkoson Family for this generous donation.

Staff Recommended Action: The Governing Board accept the report as presented.

Governor Byerly moved to accept the report as presented. The motion carried 5-0.

Staff Recommended Action: The Governing Board adopt Resolution 10-02 – Donation of Alachua County Library District surplus property to the Murphree Law Library.

Governor Byerly moved that the Governing Board adopt Resolution 10-02 – Donation of Alachua County Library District surplus property to the Murphree Law Library. The motion carried 5-0.

Chair Roy stated that the volunteer luncheon for the library volunteers was excellent. She stated that the event was a pleasure to attend. She further stated that she appreciates the Community Outreach that the Library District performs. It is a great service to the Community.
