GAINESVILLE, FL-  Join Flying Pig recording artist Barry Sides on Saturday, May 8th at 2:00p.m., as he performs songs from his albums “Slippin' Away” and “Broken Hearts Broken Strings”

Sides will also discuss his songwriting process and will share stories about his songs and where they came from. Past  library presentations have been well attended so get there early. A short question and answer session will follow his presentation.

"I have a hand full of new songs and others I am trying to finish. I can't wait to get back in the studio", says Sides about the announcement to record a new record for Flying Pig records in 2010.

SYNOPSIS:

Hannah Maynard, prosecutor at the International Criminal Tribunal in The Hague, is leading a trial against a former commander of the Yugoslavian National Army who is accused of the deportation and later killing of dozens of Bosnian-Muslim civilians. When a key witness commits suicide, it looks like the case will unravel, however Hannah refuses to give in.

GAINESVILLE, FL - Saturday, February 13th, at 4:00PM The Alachua Audubon Society, Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology, and the National Audubon Society present Adam Kent at the Tower Road Library. 

Kent will be discussing the eBird program, which has revolutionized the way the birding community reports and accesses information about birds.

eBird is a real-time, online checklist program. Launched in 2002 eBird provides rich data sources for basic information on bird abundance and distribution at a variety of spatial and temporal scales.
