GAINESVILLE, FL – A new world language-learning product, Powerspeak Languages, is now available at Alachua County Library District.

The first four languages available are Spanish, French, German and Mandarin Chinese. The courses use a variety of multi-sensory activities to take full advantage of the brain’s ability to acquire language. Designed specifically for use by the diverse audience of library users, the courses include a combination of scored online activities, exercises, lessons and games.

Course activities are bound together with an adventure story containing rich graphics, audio, video, music and an intuitive way to track progress. Learners are also challenged to practice speaking and writing in a variety of interactive modules designed to simulate real conversations with native speakers.

“Language is one of the last barriers in today’s global marketplace,” said Angela Gregory, Marketing & Public Relations Manager. “We’re thrilled to have language-learning products available for our library.  This will give our patrons the opportunity to learn a new language at their own pace.”

“This type of online language-learning program has been in demand among libraries for some time,” said Gregory. “We get many requests from users who are interested in improving language skills, learning a new language for business, school, travel or simply interested in learning a foreign language for the pure joy of it.  We are delighted to bring this new program to the library, providing users the best and most engaging language-learning experience available.”
