10th Gainesville Latino Film Festival and Hispanic Heritage Month festivities

10th Gainesville Latino Film Festival and Hispanic Heritage Month festivities at the Alachua County Library District includes the Cine Latino Series and Fiesta de los ninõs at Headquarters Library plus three Bilingual Storytimes at Library Partnership. 

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated each year from September 15 to October 15. This year, in commemoration of the Latina Women’s League 10th anniversary of collaborating with the Gainesville community, ALCD is partnering with the Latina Women’s League to present these free and open to the public events:

At Headquarters Library:

Fiesta de los Niños
10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, October 4
This family fun festival celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month. Community groups will present music, dance, stories, crafts and culturally authentic snacks in the children’s area. All ages.

At Library Partnership:
Bilingual Storytimes/Cuentos Latino-americanos
Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. the Latina Women’s League will present Latin America Folktales for the whole family.

November 4 - The Wedding of Xdzunúum
December 2 - The Stone Soup/La sopa de piedra
