The public is invited to participate the Alachua County Citizens Academy. This eight-week program offers an opportunity to participate in behind-the-scenes tours, hear lectures starting on April 6, this series of Thursday morning sessions will take you behind the scenes to see how our government works and to meet the men and women who serve the County. Each session showcases specific County Departments and Constitutional Offices at different locations. Alachua County Library District is part of this first session and will present an overview of its services and programs.
Participants receive detailed information about the operations of county departments, special districts, and Constitutional Officers. The sessions include presentations, handouts, tours, hands-on activities and question/answer periods. Participants must be 18 years or older and have transportation to class sites and register in advance. Attendance at all sessions is recommended, and you must attend at least six (6) of the eight (8) sessions to receive a certificate of completion. Register or for more information
