Superintendent Alachua County Schools visits FOL Bookhouse

Dr. Owen Roberts, Superintendent of Alachua County Public Schools, visited the Friends of the Library (FOL) Bookhouse on Thursday, April 23, to learn more about the FOL's book sales, activites and support of local literacy projects. FOL volunteers provided a tour and described the aspects of preparing for and conducting its twice a year book sales. Dr. Owens was able to see the Bookhouse filled with books and other items in preparation of the Spring Book Sale which starts Saturday, April 25.

Dr. Roberts shared his personal experiences with education and early learning activities. He talked about his goal to inter-connect this community in an effort to improve the education of every child in Alachua County.
