The Alachua County Library District Governing Board met in regular session.
PRESENT: Chair Lee Pinkoson, presiding, Governors Charles S. Chestnut IV, Yvonne Hinson-Rawls, Robert “Hutch” Hutchinson and Leanetta McNealy, Ph. D.
ABSENT: Vice-Chair Susan Bottcher
ALSO PRESENT: Library Director Shaney T. Livingston, Assistant County Attorney William Harlan, Assistant Clerk/Finance Director Todd Hutchison, Deputy Clerk Bob Decker

Chair Pinkoson opened the meeting at 10:44 A.M.
I. APPROVAL OF THE CONSENT AND REGULAR AGENDA
Governor Hutchinson moved approval of the Consent and Regular Agendas. The motion carried 5-0.
(The items on the Consent Agenda are of a routine nature. The motion to adopt the Consent and Regular Agendas approved all items and recommended actions on the Consent Agenda.)
A. Warrant List
Staff Recommended Action: Ratify the Warrant List.
B. Minutes of Meeting
Staff Recommended Action: Approve the Minutes of the June 13, 2013 Regular Meeting.
C. Budget Amendment – Personal Services
Staff Recommended Action: Approve the Budget Amendment.
II. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS
A. Welcome and Introduction of New Alachua County Library Staff
Staff Recommended Action: Welcome new staff.
Library Director Shaney Livingston introduced Youth Services Manager Erin Tipping.

A. Consideration of Naming Library Facilities

V. NEW BUSINESS
A. Resolution 13-04 Establishing Proposed Millage Rates
Staff Recommended Action: Adopt Resolution 13-04 establishing proposed millage rates for the Library District; adopt 5:30 P.M. on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 as the first Public Hearing date and time and 5:30 P.M. on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 as the second and final Public Hearing date and time; and authorize the Library Director to notify the Property Appraiser of this Resolution and to file the Certification of Taxable Value.
Library Director Shaney Livingston presented the above item.

VII. GOVERNING BOARD COMMENT
Governor McNealy thanked staff for their work on the Snuggle Up Center and stated that it is a positive place for families to enjoy.
Governor Hinson-Rawls praised staff for the artwork in the Snuggle Up Center.
Library Director Shaney Livingston stated that staff hired a local small business to provide the artwork. She stated that the business has been used by Disney, Universal, and the Smithsonian Institution.
VIII. CITIZEN COMMENT
Chair Pinkoson recognized Joanne Auth who presented comments to the Board.
