Gainesville, Fla. – The Alachua Branch will host a book launch for Sudye Cauthen’s Florida’s Bellamy Road: A Place Remembered featuring a panel discussion of award-winning authors and contributors to the book at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8 at 14913 NW 140 St., Alachua.
Florida’s Bellamy Road: A Place Remembered chronicles the people and places of the region and features Barbara B. Gibbs’ photography. The book is a companion piece to Cauthen’s Southern Comforts: Rooted in a Florida Place, which won a Florida Book Award for nonfiction. Both books focus on Alachua’s town and countryside.
The panel will feature Pulitzer Prize-winning author and University of Florida professor Jack E. Davis, fifth-generation Bellamy Road resident Jeff Means, Cauthen and Gibbs. This event is presented by the Alachua Friends of the Library. Copies of Cauthen’s book will be available for purchase.
