Main Street in the City of Alachua has a lot of scarecrows hanging around on light poles. Literally. They are competing in the annual Scarecrow Row with this year's theme being "Scarecrows Enjoy the Good Life." Wondering how scarecrows do that? Visit Alachua and take a stroll down Main Street through October 31 to enjoy this fun event sponsored by the Alachua Chamber of Commerce

Get in the halloween spirit with your own spooky creations at our Halloween Make-It, Take-It on Monday, October 26 at 4 PM in the Snuggle Up area.
On Thursday, October 29, drop by the Alachua Branch between 2 to 6 PM to see innocent children turn into frightening creatures with our scary photo booth. Parents be sure and bring a camera to take before and after pictures. Notice: The Library makes no warranty whatsoever, whether express, implied, or statutory, that the child will be able to return to its natural state. It is strongly recommended that parents take a photograph prior to the child entering the photo booth.
Trick or Treat on Main Street will be held on Saturday, October 31 from 6 to 8 PM. Get your costume ready for this grand festival of delightful and frightful fun.
