Gingerbread workshop is here again!

Yes!  T’is the season for Gingerbread houses.

Visit 1, 2, or all 6 library branches hosting a Gingerbread Workshop.  Whether you want to eat the house all by yourself or give it as a gift to that special someone, you have options!

Newberry Branch
Event: Gingerbread House Decorating Party
Come and join us at the Newberry Branch as we decorate Gingerbread Houses! We will be providing the houses and the decorations, all we need is for you to help make them! This event will be broken into four 30-minute blocks of 20 participants each, so please sign up for one block to reserve your spot.

Alachua Branch
Event: Sixth Annual Gingerbread House Workshop
Candy canes? Graham crackers? Colorful candy? It's time for gingerbread houses! We provide the houses and candy. All that's needed is your creativity!  There will be holiday activities in the children's area for those who are waiting their turn to enter the decorating room. All our busy elves and staff are looking forward to seeing your decorated houses in this sweet and colorful event.  Houses constructed with vegan icing will be available.

Event: Gingerbread House Decorating Contest
Join us for the 2nd annual Gingerbread House Decorating Contest! Build a winning and tasty creation! All supplies are furnished; just bring your creativity! Winners will receive a special prize.

High Springs Branch
Event: Gingerbread House Competition
Hooray!  It's time for the Gingerbread House Competition. Teens and tweens you will be surprised how much fun it is to build your personal gingerbread house. The trick is to save the gumdrops, peppermint sticks, licorice and skittles to decorate the house and not eat the sweets before the house is judged.  Do you think you can resist the temptation?  This event is guaranteed to get you excited about the holiday season. Don't forget to register starting December 1, for this amazing event.

Library Partnership Branch
Event: Gingerbread House Challenge
All ages are encouraged to show off their architectural skills and construct the supreme gingerbread house at the third annual Library Partnership Gingerbread House Challenge on Thursday, Dec. 20, 5 to 6 p.m.  While you are here, also check out our gingerbread collection in our glass display case.

Cone Park Branch
Event: MAKERspace Architecture for Kids: Gingerbread Houses
Join us at Cone Park to build and to learn about architecture while making gingerbread houses with presenter Ann Stacy.  Registration is encouraged to guarantee your spot.

Age group: 5 to 11

Tower Road Branch
Event: FOODIEspace: White Chocolate Snowflakes
Join us for a demonstration on creating snowflakes out of white chocolate. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own confection.
