Author Sarah A. Younger

Come to the High Springs Branch Library Thursday, May 18, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. to meet author Sarah A. Younger!

Sarah will be speaking about her book, "A Bend in the Straight and Narrow: A Woman's Journey into the Heart of the Florida Frontier," (2016) which was honored as a finalist for both the Royal Palm Literary Award competition and the Florida Writer's Contest. The book is a chronicle of the stories told to her by her grandmother, Granny O'Steen, while other parts are filled in with historical fiction.  This novel is based on the story of how Sarah's family settled in Florida in the post-Civil War era.

Meet reenactors in period dress, who have artifacts of life from the Civil War era, too.

A book signing will immediately follow.
