Black History through the Arts

Join us for a celebration of Black History on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at 3 p.m. at the Archer Community Center. The Archer Community Center is located at 16671 SW 137th Avenue, Archer, Florida. 

The program will feature several music and dance performances in honor of Black History, as well as a poetry reading and artifacts display. The keynote speaker for the event is Mr. John Gay, who is the Past President of the General Daniel "Chappie" James Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, headquartered in Orlando. Mr. Gay is a former pilot and relative of an original Tuskegee Airmen. 

During the program, original artifacts will be displayed by local residents Frank and Roberta Lopez. In addition, refreshments will be available, provided by Maddox Foundry and the Archer Community Center Advisory Board.
