Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead!

The Archer Branch of the Alachua County Library District is proud to announce a brand new series of programs focusing on science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (S.T.E.A.M).

As a partner in education, the library regularly offers after-school programs, but as a tribute to the City of Archer's rich history as a railroad town, this new series of programs will be called:  Full S.T.E.A.M. ahead!

The first four programs will be held this fall with more programs to follow.

Here's our fall schedule of events:

Wednesday, September 16 at 4 p.m.  Basics of Art - Drawing and Composition

This program will explore art and math, and the featured artist will be M.C. Escher!

Relativity by M.C. Escher

Wednesday, October 14 at 4 p.m.  Color Theory

Explore science and the specturm of light!  Claude Monet will be the featured artist. Come see his beautiful paintings.

Thursday, November 12 at 4 p.m. Where Can Art Take You?  Careers in Art

Do you love art?  Linda Tiffany will tell you about various careers available in the art world today.  Learn more about our featured artist, Leonardo da Vinci, his fabulous life, multiple careers and amazing inventions too.

Wednesday, December 2 at 4 p.m.  Holidays in the Arts

This art class will focus on Michelangelo, portraits, and more!
