August 6, Summer Reader Palooza at Headquarters Library offers fun for all

Alachua County Library District presents its Summer Reader Palooza, a summer party for all ages, at Headquarters Library on Sunday, August 6, 2 to 4 p.m. Families and kids of all ages can enjoy face painting and balloon twisting, Mandalas by Evelyn and recycling activities with Alternative Waste Management. Participants can also try to escape from Diagon Alley in exciting Escape Rooms. Plus visit the 4th annual Elements of Inspiration Art Show that showcases artwork created by local artist ages 19 and up. This year’s annual art show features a reception from 2:30 to 3 p.m. with an art demonstration at 3 p.m. by local and international artist Elizabeth Barakah Hodges. Summer Reader Palooza, at Headquarters Library, downtown at 401 E University Avenue, is free and open to the public.

“Summer Reader Palooza gives everyone a chance to experience creative fun,” said Erin Phemester, Youth Services Senior Library Manager. “We’re looking forward to bringing families together to celebrate their summer reading and learning adventures.”
