Author Series presents Jamie Ford at Headquarters Library April 14

Alachua County Library District 2018 Author Series presents Jamie Ford on Saturday, April 14, 2:30 p.m., at Headquarters Library, 401 E. University Avenue. Ford will talk about his debut novel, Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, which became a best seller and favorite of book clubs, named the #1 Book Club Pick in 2009 by the American Booksellers Association. He will also talk about his book, Songs of Willow Frost, and his latest, Love and Other Consolation Prizes. Ford is the great-grandson of Nevada mining pioneer Min Chung who emigrated from Kaiping, China, to San Francisco, Ca. in 1865, where he adopted the Western name “Ford.” Ford grew up near Chinatown in Seattle, Wash. and now lives in Montana.

The Author Series is presented by the Friends of the Library and is a collaboration with publishers and Books-A-Million. Each author will speak, answer questions and be available for book signings. Davis Bunn on Sunday, May 20, 2:30 p.m.
Davis Bunn, international bestseller and winner of four Christy awards, will present a double feature of his two latest novels, Miramar Bay and Firefly Cove. These novels begin a new series which is a bit of a departure for Bunn, who is known mainly for his inspirational fiction. He is exploring a new theme which he calls “the miracle of a second chance,” in his new series, all of which will be set in Miramar Bay, Ca. He provides a beautiful romantic journey through doubt and desire. Bunn has written more than 40 books – spanning the genres of legal thrillers, women’s fiction and historical fiction – and has more than seven million copies in print in 21 languages. Although born and raised in North Carolina, Bunn is currently a writer in residence at Oxford in
England.
