New York Times Best Seller Craig Johnson is most famous for his very popular Longmire novels. Johnson has written twelve novels, two novellas and a collection of short stories featuring Sheriff Walt Longmire of Absaroka County, Wyoming—the least populated county in the least populous state.
The stories have been adapted for a television series that was the highest-rated debut on the A&E cable channel; the series is in its 6th season on Netflix. He assures us that he will continue to write this series long after the cinematic version is in syndication.
The series (both books and tv series) is so popular in Wyoming they have a weekend--long event, Longmire Days, that attracts more than 15,000 people. Ironically, the tv series is filmed in New Mexico.
The Western Star, his latest Walt Longmire series, was published in September.
Johnson has also written stand-alones and non-fiction books.
He'll be at Headquarters Sunday, February 4 at 2:30pm.
