The Alachua County Library District (ACLD) invites all library card holders to participate in International Big Library Read program. Library card holders will be able to borrow and read the young adult fiction eBook or eAudiobook, Anatomy of a Misfit by Andrea Portes, starting midday Monday, October 13 and concluding at midday Tuesday, October 28, by visiting www.aclib.us/overdrive. This title was just released in September 2014, so participants will be among the first to read it.
“Anatomy of a Misfit was inspired by a true story of a popular girl who must choose between the hottest guy in town and a romantic misfit, a choice resulting in tragic consequences,” said Tracy Babiasz, ACLD Technical Services Administrator. “The Big Read program offers a great opportunity for groups or book clubs to read and discuss a novel together. If you haven’t checked out eBooks or eAudiobooks from the library yet, the Big Library Read provides a fantastic way to get started.”
Big Library Read is an international program that provides ACLD library users unlimited simultaneous access to a popular title during the program dates, creating a virtual, global eBook club. Library card holders will be able borrow Anatomy of a Misfit and read on all major computers and devices, including iPhone®, iPad®, Nook®, Android™ phones and tablets, and Kindle® (U.S. Libraries) without worrying about wait lists or holds. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period. The Big Library Read program is made possible through a partnership between OverDrive, the leading supplier of eBooks and more to libraries, and HarperCollins, publisher of Andrea Portes’ latest title.
