Anthony Bourdain is known as the award winning author, celebrity chef, and international traveler. Few may know that he started his career washing dishes and worked his way up to cooking in high-end Manhattan kitchens. His realistic view of life in a restaurant is revealed in his bestselling memoir; Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly. Bourdain went on to write a sequel, several cookbooks, novels and star in television shows on Travel Channel, Food Network, PBS, and CNN. He also starred and produced the documentary Wasted! The Story of Food Waste.
In his television show Parts Unknown, Anthony Boudain was the traveler who would take his viewers to interesting, and often unknown parts of the world and highlight not just the food but the culture as well. His commentary for his revealed a respectful honesty for the people and places he visited. His appreciation, although often irreverent, sincerely came through as he took his viewers around the world. He always wanted to be called a cook, not a chef.
