Apollo 11 was the spaceflight that landed the first two people on the Moon. Commander Neil Armstrong and lunar module pilot Buzz Aldrin, both American, landed the Apollo Lunar Module Eagle on July 20, 1969. All this month NASA and the rest of the United States is marking that historic moment 50 years ago.
At the Library Partnership we have a glass display case full of moon landing memoribilia that will be displayed through the month of July and as the Library District is promoting a Moon Landing 50th Anniversary Poster Contest.
Come check out this cool display, and find some interesting books and movies about NASA and America's curiosity about the space program. “That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind”
