Friends of the Library's Bag of Books Sale returns Jan. 14-Feb 10

The Friends of the Library's second Bag of Books sale launches Thursday, Jan. 14 with bags of books, DVDs, vinyl records, and puzzles for $5 or $10 online.

Affectionately nicknamed "BOB," the sale goes live at https://shop.folacld.org/. Buyers can order their books online and pick up purchases at the Bookhouse at 430-B N. Main St. in Gainesville on four successive Saturdays: Jan. 23, Jan. 30, Feb. 6, and Feb. 13. FOL volunteers will assign shoppers pickup times between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Runners will bring purchases out to vehicles; buyers are asked to wear masks when picking up items.

Shoppers can select bags of books in categories including cooking, hardback, romance, paperback fiction, science fiction, young adult, children, and mystery. FOL will add more categories as the sale approaches. Shoppers can use credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay to complete their online purchases. Orders will close on Feb. 10.

FOL is a volunteer-run nonprofit that supports the Library District and community literary efforts. FOL funding helps the Library District purchase materials, bring in special performers and guests, and market library services.

FOL is not accepting donations at this time due to limited space in the organization's bookhouse. For additional sale information, please call the FOL Bookhouse at 352-375-1676 and leave a message.
