The People’s Book Club at the Library Partnership is off and running. To accommodate the current members, the meeting time has been moved up an hour to 1:00 PM on the last Monday of every month. The next meeting is March 27th at 1:00 PM and there will be meetings on April 24th and May 22nd at 1:00 PM.
For the month of March, the people have elected to read Touching Spirit Bear by Ben Mikaelsen. All the feedback so far has been very positive with several members saying it is impossible to put down.
For April, the people have selected Blood, Bone & Marrow: A Biography of Harry Crews by Ted Geltner. The reading of this book will help participants prepare for the author's visit to Gainesville – Geltner will visit the downtown HQ library on Sunday, April 23rd at 2:30 PM as part of the Alachua County Library District 2017 Author Series.
At the March 27th meeting there will be a vote on the book selections for May and June. Anybody who attends will have the right to nominate a book and/or exercise veto privileges on any selections.
It’s a great time to be a reader and a great time to be free, so visit your Library Partnership and join a group that celebrates these essential rights!
