Contact: Rachel Cook

Gainesville, Fla. – Artists ages 16-19 can submit their paintings, sculptures, and photos through April 16 to the Alachua County District’s Spring Teen Art Show.

Teens can visit www.aclib.us/TeenArtShow for contest rules and entry forms. Each participant can enter up to three pieces of original artwork in any format, including videos. Submissions will be judged by local artists and arts professionals.

Winners will be announced on April 24 and all artworks will be displayed on the Library District’s Teen Art Show website. All artists will receive a participation certificate for their portfolio. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place; honorable mentions; best logo; and three to four category winners.

“This is such a wonderful opportunity for local teens to get their artwork seen by the community and to add this experience to their art portfolio,” said Library Specialist Samantha Noll, who is coordinating the art show for the eighth time. “I’m still surprised, impressed, and moved by the amount of skill and talent that comes out of each show. I love seeing the various methods, techniques, and mediums that the teens use.”
