Cone Park Branch Library will stay open until 7 p.m. Friday, May 1, to welcome and serve East Gainesville Relay for Life participants.

The Eighth Annual East Gainesville Relay for Life will start Friday at 6 p.m. and continue through Saturday morning in Cone Park, just behind the Cone Park Branch Library located at 2801 E. University Avenue. Cone Park Branch Library will open two hours later at 12 p.m. and stay open two hours longer until 7 p.m. to provide library services. Cone Park Branch will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Everyone is invited to the Cone Park Library and East Gainesville Relay for Life which includes family-friendly activities and entertainment organized by the local churches, businesses, sororities, fraternities, youth and other groups and individuals. East Gainesville Relay for Life is an all-night event which symbolizes that cancer never sleeps. This is one of the American Cancer Society’s local Relay for Life events that honors cancer survivors and provides educational materials. The money raised goes to support education and prevention, fund cancer research and provide free information and services for people with cancer.
