Jurassic Park the book was released on November 20, 1990. Although it wasn’t released as a movie until June 11, 1993, it became a global phenomenon. It set domestic records, three-day opening weekend records, and second weekend records and was also the fastest to reach $100 million and $200 million dollars in 1993. In the U.S. alone, it made over $357 million dollars. While most people have seen the movie, not nearly as many people have actually sat down and read the book. There are quite a few differences between the book and the movie. For example, did you know that there was more than one T-Rex in the first book? Or that Dr. Grant actually likes kids? Because of the interesting differences between the movie and the book, we have created a 26th anniversary display for Jurassic Park. We hope that both kids and adults will be interested in learning more about dinosaurs and seeing for themselves the differences between the book and the movie.
