Exercise Your Brain with Summer Reading

Summer Reading begins on June 9 at all Alachua County Library District (ACLD) libraries. Exercise your brain, mind, heart, spirit and body with Summer Reading programs for all ages, all summer long.

Kids can celebrate their Summer Reading successes at Summer Reader Palooza on Sunday, August 7, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Headquarters Library. Teens can celebrate at The Fandom Games after-hours party at Millhopper Branch on Friday, August 5, 6 to 8 p.m.

Adults can participate in Summer Reading to engage in more physical activity or creative pursuits, experience a new book or participate in their own summer reading club. Sign up, track what you are reading and write book reviews.

All titles on the elementary list of Sunshine State Young Readers Awards for 2016-2017 are also available in the “Sizzler” collection at most branches. A “Sizzler” is a high demand book ready to check out from any library’s special Sizzler display shelf. It cannot be put on hold. Checkouts for these begin the last week of May.
