Alachua County Library District is offering free gingerbread building activities in December to provide holiday fun and creative opportunities for all ages. Learn how to construct gingerbread houses and build holiday memories at Alachua, Archer, High Springs, Library Partnership and Newberry Branches. All supplies are provided and gingerbread houses will go home with their builders to enjoy. Blueprints for each program are as follows:

Friends and families of all ages are invited to construct a holiday gingerbread house at Alachua Branch’s fifth annual Gingerbread House Workshop on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2 to 4 p.m.

Ages 3 to 11 are invited to build a winning and tasty creation in Archer Branch’s first Gingerbread House Contest. Bring your creativity on Thursday, Dec. 14, 4 to 6 p.m.

Ages 5 to 18 are invited to build and compete at this Gingerbread House Competition on Friday, Dec. 15, 3 to 4:30 p.m.

All ages are encouraged to show off their architectural skills and construct the supreme gingerbread house at the second annual Library Partnership Gingerbread House Challenge on Thursday, Dec. 21, 5 to 6 p.m.

Crafters of all ages are invited to the annual Gingerbread House Contest on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2 to 4:30 p.m.
