The Friends of the Library will hold its annual fall book sale from Saturday, October 25, to Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the FOL Book House, 430-B N. Main Street. All the profits from this low-overhead volunteer effort will be used for the Alachua County Library District and community literacy projects.
More than 500,000 items in more than 60 categories will be available for purchase including hardback, paperback and large print books, with most items priced from 25 cents to $4. The collection includes a vast array of classical and modern fiction, children’s and young adults’ books, textbooks from preschool through graduate school, cookbooks, hobby books, audio books, music CD’s, videotapes and DVD’s, manga, comic books, magazines, framed artwork, posters, records, games and puzzles, video games, computer software, art and more.
The Collector’s Corner is open the first four days. This unique feature of the book sale offers special items including first editions, signed copies and rare books for purchase at fair prices.
Mark your calendar. This sale occurs only twice a year, in the spring and fall. Shoppers are advised to bring their own boxes. Cash and checks are accepted for payment. Hours are:

Monday, October 27, 12 to 7 pm
Tuesday, October 28, 12 to 7 pm – everything in the general collection is half price
Wednesday, October 29, 12 to 6 pm – everything is 10 cents
Proceeds from the book sale help to purchase library materials, programs at library branches throughout the county for children and adults, scholarships for library staff and special land purchases as well as remodeling projects for the library.
