The Friends of the Library will hold its annual Spring Book Sale Saturday, April 25, to Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the FOL Book House, 430 N. Main Street, Gainesville. All the profits from this low-overhead volunteer effort will be used for the Alachua County Library District and community literacy projects.
More than 500,000 items in more than 64 categories will go on sale starting April 25. The collection includes a vast array of classical and modern fiction, children’s and young adults’ books, textbooks from preschool through graduate school, large-print books, cookbooks, hobby books, audio books, music CD’s, videotapes and DVD’s, manga, comic books, magazines, framed artwork, posters, records, games and puzzles, video games, computer software, art and more. Most items are priced from 25 cents to $4.
The Collector’s Corner, a unique feature of the book sale, has first editions, signed copies, rate books and a large collection of Florida books. It is open Saturday through Tuesday.
Mark your calendar. This sale occurs only twice a year, in the spring and fall. Shoppers are advised to bring their own boxes. Cash and checks are accepted for payment. Spring hours are:

Sunday, April 26, 12 to 6 pm
Monday, April 27, 12 to 6 pm
Tuesday, April 28, 12 to 6 pm – everything in the general collection is half price
Wednesday, April 29, 12 to 6 pm – everything is 10 cents
Proceeds from the book sale help to purchase library materials, programs at library branches throughout the county for children and adults, scholarships for library staff and special land purchases as well as remodeling projects for the library.
