Genealogy expert shares family research tips Dec. 14 at Headquarters Branch

Gainesville, Fla. – Drew Smith, one half of the Genealogy Guys, will help ancestry buffs improve their research skills on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 1 p.m. at the Alachua County Library District’s Headquarters Branch, 401 E. University Ave, in Meeting Room A.  Photo of a man.

Smith co-hosts The Genealogy Guys podcast for genealogists of all skill levels and the Genealogy Connection podcast featuring interviews with movers and shakers in the genealogy community. Smith will cover two topics in this session, starting with “Your ancestor’s FAN club: Using cluster research to get past brick walls.” He will demonstrate how patrons can discover additional records about relatives by researching their ancestors’ extended network of family, associates, and neighbors. Next, Smith will present “Organizing your genealogy research process,” highlighting task management software, research logs, and other tools to improve genealogy exploration.
