Alachua County Genealogical Society

Join the Alachua County Genealogical Society. Meetings are held at the Headquarters Library on the third Monday of each month, September through May, at 7:00pm. Program topics, activities, and changes are announced to members through the newsletter and the quarterly. Newcomers are always welcome.

These pictures come from the Library's Heritage Collection of local area photos. The Heritage Collection consists of approximately 1,100 historical photographs from the Alachua County, Florida area, including local landmarks, portraits, historic maps, community events, natural disasters, and many items of local interest.

Obituaries and death notices printed in the Gainesville Sun are available at the Headquarters Library in digital, print, and/or microfilm. Gainesville Sun obituaries and death notices (1995-Current) are available through Gainesville Sun (Full-Text) with your library card. You may also contact the Reference desk by email or call (352) 334-3940 to ask about document delivery by email or postal mail.
