Harn Museum curator will discuss Monet and American Impressionism art February 25, at Tower Road Branch

Alachua County Library District will host a discussion about the Harn Museum’s Monet and American Impressionism art exhibit on February 25, 6:30 p.m. at the Tower Road Branch Library, 3020 SW 75 St. Dulce Roman, Curator of Modern Art at the Harn Museum of Art University of Florida, will provide an overview of its exhibition, Monet and American Impressionism. This exhibition, which includes four paintings by Claude Monet, as well as paintings by other European and American artists of the day, will highlight 25 artists who launched a new way of painting in response to the influence of French Impressionism. Roman will use these works to generate dialogue about differing techniques, composition and subject matter between American and French Impressionism. The public is invited to this free program.

The Monet and American Impressionism exhibit opens February 3, and continues through May 24, 2015 at the Harn Museum of Art, located at the corner of SW 34 St. and Hull Road on the University of Florida campus. For information about this exhibit visit www.harn.ufl.edu or call (352) 392-9826.
