Haunting expert reveals Flordia's spooky stories at four branches Oct. 12-13

Gainesville, Fla. – Join a folklorist for a chilling journey through Florida’s haunted history Oct. 12 and 13 at four Alachua County Library District branches.

The Library District presents “Folklore of Haunted Hometowns” with Christopher Balzano, host of the Tripping on Legends podcast and author of multiple books on regional hauntings. Part history lesson, part folklore, and part ghost story, Balzano will take you on a hair-raising trip from the Gulf Coast to the Space Coast, from swamps to haunted attractions. Embrace the spooky season spirit with tales of the Sunshine State’s scary side.  

Folklore of Haunted Hometowns will be presented as follows:

  • 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at Tower Road Branch, 3020 SW 75 St.
  • 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at Alachua Branch, 14913 NW 140 St.
  • Noon-2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13 at Headquarters Branch, 401 E. University Ave.
  • 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13 at Hawthorne Branch, 6640 SE 221 St.
