Guitarist Jazzes Up Spring Music Series

Jazz guitarist Richy Stano will share his music at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 28 at Headquarters Branch in Meeting Room A.  

Richy Stano is currently the guitar professor at Sante Fe College in Gainesville, Florida. He is formerlRichy Stanoy a guitar instructor at The Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT) and curriculum coordinator for the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA, and a clinician for The National Guitar Workshop. Richy also performs regularly as a solo artist and touring guitarist in venues close to home and across the country. His contemporary jazz band Mindwalk  has released two CD's that have been critically acclaimed. Currently, he is finishing up recording new music using Omar Hakim (Miles Davis/Weather Report/Sting/Daft Punk), Richard Hilton (MD for NileRodgers/Chic/David Bowie) Chieli Minucci, Jerry Brooks, Mark Pinske (Frank Zappa) and Rich Redmond (Jason Aldean). As noted by reviewers: "Mindwalk makes music for the body and the mind."                        

All performances are free and open to the public and made possible by the sponsorship of Dawn Realty and SunState Federal Credit Union.

The Alachua County Library District is pleased to present its first Spring Music Series. Performances this spring will feature the guitar and include a variety of music genres performed by nationally renowned and local artists. Popular music of the 50s and 60s, classical music, folk, jazz and blues will all be represented.  Performances will be held on Sunday afternoons at Headquarters Branch.
