Local Author Series Features Fran Sweeney April 27


Fran Sweeney will present her book on April 27.

The Alachua County Library District's Local Author Series welcomes Fran Sweeney at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at Headquarters Library. 

Fran Sweeney will present her novel, The Royal Carpet, about Queen Elizabeth’s visit to Alachua County to buy horses only to get stranded here.

Romance develops between a local resident, Fiona, and a secret service man. Meanwhile, Fiona’s Irish aunt tries to right a wrong dating back to the time of the "troubles” between England and Ireland.

Sweeney lives in Alachua County with her dogs and a murder of crows.

During the Local Author Series, a local author will read and discuss his/her latest written work, take questions, and have books available for sale each month. These authors are members of Writers Alliance of Gainesville, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that promotes, encourages and supports aspiring and experienced regional writers. The Local Author Series runs through May 2019 at the Headquarters Branch in Meeting Room A.
