Re-Entry Conference & Job and Resource Fair

This conference is for individuals with criminal backgrounds or others with significant barriers that are struggling to re-enter the workforce. Trained experts will assist in creating email accounts and resumes, offer tips on job searching, interviewing and starting a small business as well as provide educational opportunities.

 

 

Re-Entry Conference (April 9-12/ 10:00am-12:00pm)

 April 9: Employability Skills: Job Searching, Interviewing, Professional Presentation & Clothing : Keynote motivational speaker,( Jhody Polk), Employability (Harold Gertner), CareerSource NCFL Services (James Schindler)  

April 10: Educational Opportunities & Certifications: Santa Fe College – GED and Certificate Programs (Angela McQueen), City College (Stephen Johnson)

April 11th: Entrepreneurship & Small Business Resources: Keynote Motivational Speaker (Tequila Copeland, Owner-Sunrise Cleaning ), Alachua County – Small Business Enterprise Program (Jacqueline Hart), Small Business Start-up (Sean C. McCoy, Ph.D) 

April 12th: Successful Resume Writing & Professional Emails: Resume Development Overview (Jimmy Yawn), Resume Development & Email Assistance (staff and volunteers)

 

Job Fair (April 24/ 10:00am- 1:00pm) 

Headquarters Branch Library (401 East University Avenue)

Participants are invited to meet with local businesses and organizations to explore job opportunities and career resources.
