The Re-Entry Partnership Initiative

All workshops and presentations will be conducted by trained instructors and field experts and provide instruction on how to build a resume, create and use e-mail, improve interview skills, learn how to search for a job, find educational programs and learn about entrepreneurship opportunities.

All workshops and presentations will take place at the Headquarters Library in the downtown area, from 3:00pm-6:00pm, on the dates below:

May 2: Job Searching Tips, Interview Skills, Employability: Presenters/ Donna Scott, Angela McQueen, and James Schindler (Meeting Room-A)

May 9: Creating E-mails and Resumes: Instructors/ Library Staff and Volunteers (Meeting Room-B)

May 16: Information about the GED and Santa Fe college Certificate Programs: Presenters/ Jo Ann Wilkes, Mike SandersLori Weitzel, and Tom Mason (Meeting Room-A)

May 23: Entrepreneurship and Starting a Small Business: Presenters/Erik A. Bredfeldt and Edgar Campa-Palafox (Meeting Room-B)

In developing this program, the Alachua County Library District worked in partnership with Alachua County, CareerSource North Central FloridaThe City of Gainesville, The Department of Corrections, Gainesville Housing Authority, Santa Fe College, and the Alachua County Schoolboard. All of these agencies and organizations are dedicated to assisting those facing significant barriers and worked diligently to offer this program.

Also, Sylvia Ashwell (ACLD Reference Librarian), Cherie Kelly (Gainesvile Housing Authority), Cheris Carpenter (ACLD Outreach Librarian), Nathaniel Courtney (Cone Park Branch Library), Linda Cue (ACLD Reference Librarian), and Theresa Sterling (ACLD Literacy Coordinator), served on the committee for this project and can be contacted for information and assistance related to RE-Entry for those facing significant barriers due to former incarceration and other experiences.
