Join Melanie Barr, historic preservationist and former chair of the Alachua County Historical Commission as she presents Remembering Josiah T. Walls, part of our Black History Month programs. Josiah T. Walls was one of the first black men elected to Congress during the Reconstruction Era and the first black man elected to Congress from Florida. After he left politics, he ran a farm in Alachua County. Please honor the achievements of Josiah T. Walls on Sunday, February 7th at 2:00 pm in Meeting Room B.
This program is possible thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Library.
