To commemorate Black History Month, Genealogist and Historian, Bertha Williams Lee, will tell the stories of the men and women enslaved on the Serenola Plantation through a series of reenactments. As an active member of the Florida State Genealogical Society, her research and collaboration with the Alachua County Historical Commission resulted in the approval by the State of Florida of the Serenola Plantation Marker which was installed May 2011 in Squirrel Ridge Park at 1603 S.W. Williston Road in Gainesville, Florida.
