Please join us for Tim Dorsey’s 2016 Coconut Cowboy Book Tour on Friday, September 23, 6:00 p.m. at the Waldo Community Center, 13558 NE 148th Avenue, Waldo.
Look out Waldo…Tim Dorsey is once again shaking things up with Coconut Cowboy, his latest crime caper set in Florida. As with his other novels, Dorsey’s main character is Serge Storms, who is intelligent, high-strung, obsessive, with a strong resolve for justice. Coleman is Storms sidekick and these vigilantes have their own marque of morale, taking liberties that are a bit…unconventional.
Inspired by the classic ‘60s biker film Easy Rider, Storm and Coleman set out on a motorcycle tour of the Sunshine State, visiting small towns to rediscover the American Dream. Instead of charm and ease, they stumble upon plenty of the state’s corrupt and dysfunctional weirdness and the trip becomes epic, deadly and hysterical.
Coconut Cowboy is Dorsey’s nineteenth Florida novel. For his titles such as Florida Roadkill, Hammerhead Ranch Motel, Orange Crush, Triggerfish Twist, The Stingray Shuffle, Cadillac Beach, Torpedo Juice, The Big Bamboo, Hurricane Punch, Atomic Lobster, Nuclear Jellyfish, Gator A-Go-Go, Electric Barracuda, Shark Skin Suite and others, visit our collection. Fans who appreciate Dorsey’s sense of humor often enjoy Carl Hiaasen and Dave Barry’s works.
Dorsey will have multiple book titles, hats and t-shirts available for sale and signing. He will also sign copies of books people bring from home. This free event is open to everyone and is co-sponsored by the City of Waldo. There will be door prizes!
