Cross Creek by Marjorie Kinnan RawlingsCross Creek Cookery by Marjorie Kinnan RawlingsInvasion of Privacy by Patricia Acton

In this Year of Cross Creek, a celebration of the 75th anniversary of the publication of Cross Creek and Cross Creek Cookery, we are sharing both her books and her life. Both reflect her experience of the first half of the 20th century, as an artist and as an individual, both single and married. Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings developed friendships in Cross Creek and wrote about her life in the community. A famous trial emerged when one of those women who was her friend sued her for invasion of privacy. Valerie Rivers, the Park Manager of the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historic State Park, will discuss this episode and others in the life of Kinnan Rawlings and the interwoven connections between a personal life, art and the history of American women.
