General Reference Desk Assistant
Assists library staff at the reference desk in helping patrons find materials. Assists with check-out of materials. Helps maintain order by roaming floor regularly. Fills pencil and scrap paper holders. Stuffs envelopes with SRP incentives. Assists librarians with weeding from printed lists. Helps create book lists and signs. Provides basic directional assistance to the public. Refers complex reference questions to library staff.
- Prepares materials to be used by library staff.
- Assists with reference desk duties.
- Greets and welcomes patrons to Youth Services.
- Other duties as assigned.
Demonstrates good customer service skills. Ability to work with all ages of the general public. Able to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to serve a minimum of 2 hours per week
Volunteer Liaison, or Department Manager in absence of Librarian.
Program Assistant
Assists library staff in preparing and presenting programs for children and teens. Works with library staff to plan and coordinate programs. Facilitates and conducts programs with library staff as needed. Models good behavior for program attendees. Provides basic directional assistance to the public. Refers questions to library staff.

Technology Assistant
Assists library users with basic computer questions and troubleshooting, including but not limited to: searching the Internet, using Microsoft Office products, setting up an e-mail account, and applying for jobs online. Provides basic directional assistance to the public. Refers complex questions to library staff.
- Provides one-on-one instruction to library users in basic computer usage.
- Assists library users with printing, scanning, and copying documents in the print management system.
- Helps library users with using their mobile devices.
- Troubleshoots simple computer problems.
Demonstrates good customer service skills. Intermediate knowledge of computers, web-based e-mail, Internet, and Microsoft Office products is required. Basic knowledge of mobile devices preferred.
Ability to serve a minimum of 2 hours per week.
