Parents' back to school guide

back to school, guide, parenting, parents

So your children are off to school and they are a nervous wreck!...or maybe they aren’t…but you are!...Ok, well maybe it isn’t quite that bad…but you do have some questions, maybe even concerns. Most of all, you just want to be an involved parent who is prepared with a few resources tucked away to help you and your child cope with the transitions and challenges that can come as they progress through the stages of their education.

Well, the Alachua County Library District is here to assist you with meeting that goal!

To discover some valuable resources and events to help facilitate healthy development for younger children and families click here.

There is also a wealth of information and resources available for those teens in your life who are starting to prepare for Real Life decisions like, “college, military, or corporate career?”

The Library District even provides free access to online resources that offer assessments to help your student prepare for college placement testing; and to help answer the question, “What am I going to do in My Future?”.

But at the end of the day, when your child is stumped on that math question, you really just want to help them…but it’s been too long, and they don’t do it the same way you did, right?...Well that’s okay, too.  Just lead your student to Tutor.com where they can receive live help, and you both can reap the benefit of feeling relieved that they have the right answer!

And when you’re done with homework, be sure to celebrate with these great resources for Fun and Games!

Then enjoy your downtime by checking out books on parenting from our catalog.
