Sensory Storytime

Staff members presenting Sensory Storytime

Does your child excel in structured programs with clearly-defined activities?

Join us for a special storytime created in cooperation with the University of Florida's Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (UF - Card).

This storytime will introduce children to the library and the rhythms of storytime in a gentle, fun, and enriching manner. The program is geared to the preschool level, but all are welcome.

Sensory Storytime is an educational, interactive and fun program for all children, especially children with sensory integration challenges.

Library staff use various techniques and support materials such as touch-and-feel books, fidgets, and weighted lapdogs to calm and reassure children while addressing different sensory-processing needs.

This award-winning storytime was created with the help of the University of Florida's Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD).
