The Alachua County Library District Governing Board and the Library District Board of Trustees met in joint special session.
PRESENT: Governing Board Chair Lee Pinkoson, presiding, Vice-Chair Susan Bottcher, Governors Charles S. Chestnut IV, Yvonne Hinson-Rawls, Robert “Hutch” Hutchinson, and Leanetta McNealy, Ph. D.
Board of Trustees Chair Sheila K. Dickison, Trustees Vivian L. Filer, Susan H. Sonsini, and Kim A. Worley
ABSENT: Board of Trustees Vice-Chair Ora L. White, Trustees Michael P. Allard and Charmaine B. Henry
ALSO PRESENT: Library Director Shaney T. Livingston, Assistant County Attorney William Harlan, Assistant Clerk/Finance Director Todd Hutchison, Deputy Clerk Bob Decker
The meeting was not televised.
Governing Board Chair Pinkoson and Trustees Chair Dickison opened the meeting at 11:00 A.M.
I. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA
Governor Hinson-Rawls moved adoption of the Agenda. The motion carried 6-0.
Trustee Filer moved adoption of the Agenda. The motion carried 4-0.
II. LONG RANGE FACILITES AND SERVICE PLAN
Library Director Shaney Livingston presented the above item.
Chair Pinkoson recognized Joanne Auth who presented comments to the Board.
Trustee Filer moved to approve the Long Range Facilities and Service Plan for Fiscal Years 2015-2019. The motion carried 4-0.
Governor Hutchinson moved to approve the Long Range Facilities and Service Plan for Fiscal Years 2015-2019, with the following amendment to the Mission Statement: “In support of our core values, the Library District provides an environment where both patrons and staff shall be free from discrimination and harassment based upon race, color, religion, ethnicity, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression, marital status, national origin, disability, or citizenship status.”
Governor Hutchinson moved the substitute motion to refer to staff and the Board of Trustees any amendments to the Long Range Facilities and Service Plan that ensure absolutely everybody who enters the Library feels welcome. The motion carried 6-0.
III. CITIZEN COMMENT
There were no citizens present who wished to provide comments to the Governing Board and Board of Trustees.
Chair Pinkoson thanked the Governing Board for the chance to serve as Chair.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 11:47 A.M.
