“I never set out to be a good writer. And I will never claim that I am a good writer. I just know what makes me happy. So I write day in and day out with the hopes that what makes me happy will also spark happiness somewhere… in someone. Isn’t that a happy thought?”

“Hi, I’m Dan,
Just a little bit about me. I’m a storyteller, you see. I’m an addicted writer, which means that I can’t stop writing. Maybe it’s because I love writing a lot. I’m also the author of ‘One Day in the Eucalyptus, Eucalyptus Tree’ (Harper Collins) and ‘Gator Gator Gator’ (Harper Collins). Maybe I have a thing for repeating words. They just sound yummy to me, like chocolate, chocolate chip cookies!
I write picture books, early readers, and books for middle grade readers. This is my personal blog. It is focused on writing for kids. My mission is to encourage fellow storytellers to write stories from their heart. So you can expect to find articles on:
- personal reflections / “This Morning”
- resourceful videos on storytelling
- resource LABS on the Writing Craft
I typically post once a week, every Wednesday. Sometimes I write more, sometimes less. But that’s just because I’m probably working on a book… or not working on a book. Now you know a little about me. I hope you look around Lilly Labs and find something that changes your writing life.”
