Our twelve library locations are planning lots of fun stuff this fall. October is chock full of programs or crafts to get you in the mood for a Happy Halloween! Here are some programs for KIDS. Be sure to check out our fall and Halloween programs for ADULTS / ALL AGES and for TEENS too!
FALLing for Bats!- What do you know about bats? The Lubee Bat Conservancy will provide fresh fall facts in its fun and informative presentation, featuring some of their batty friends! This is on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 1:00 to 3:00pm at Tower Road Branch. Great for kids ages 3-11, all ages welcome!
Fall Festival - Celebrate fall at Cone Park Branch with fun activities, games, crafts, and information from our community partners on Friday, Oct. 19, from 1:00 to 3:00pm. All ages welcome!
Sewing for Kids - Teaches children the basics of hand sewing, all while creating a fun felt mask for Halloween! There is no trick. Just a treat! The project is so simple, of course, children can do it themselves, and want parents, grandparents, or whoever the children would like to sew with to experience this exciting tutorial, be part of this special adventure and have a great time! We will supply the materials and children will have the freedom to work at their own pace. Ages 6 to 12 are welcome on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Alachua Branch.
The Library Partnership Resource Center, 912 NE 16th Avenue, will again host our Halloween Spooktastic Event for Families on Wednesday, October 24, 3:00pm – 5:00pm. There
Haunted Cardboard Castle Construction - Build a castle, fort, or whatever you can imagine with cardboard and simple tools. Join us on Friday, October 26 from 2:00 to 5:00pm and/or Saturday, October 27 from 1:00 to 4:00pm at our Headquarters Branch. For ages 1-18.
Halloween Children's Craft - Ages 3-11 are invited to make a Halloween craft at Alachua Branch to make a Halloween craft. For . All day, every day, Sunday October 28 through Wednesday, October 31 at our Alachua Branch.
Halloween/Dia De Los Muertos - Kids Craft - Celebrate a week of spookiness with a great take-home craft. All day, Monday, Oct. 29 through Wednesday, Oct. 31 at the Headquarters Branch. Perfect for ages 3-11.
Not-So-Scary Storytime - Join us for a Not-So-Scary Storytime as we share stories that will send a shiver down your spine. Well, maybe not because this is a Not-So-Scary storytime. We'll have fun stories for the whole family. But especially for children ages 3-11, We’ll see you on Tuesday, October 30 at 3:00pm at our Headquarters Branch. Boo!
Halloween Crafts- Celebrate Halloween at your library by making some super spooktacular crafts! Tuesday, October 30, 3:30 to 4:30pm at our Archer Branch. For ages 5-11 years.
Spooktacular Fun Party- Discover your Spooky Name, enjoy some howlingly fun games, and craft a creepy spider web….Kids ages 5-11 can do all this at our Hawthorne Branch on Tuesday, October 30 from 3:30 to 4:30pm
Halloween Poems and Crafts- Listen to some not very scary Halloween poems and make fun crafts. For ages 3-11, on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2:00 to 2:45pm at Headquarters Branch.
It's time for the villains to come out and play! Join us at Newberry Branch library as we celebrate Halloween in style with our favorite scoundrels. There will be Baddie Bingo, Deatheater and Storm Trooper mask crafts, bat crafts, and an opportunity to show off your costume while we celebrate Halloween here at your library.
